I also vote mule deer - the ears and that extra furry patch mule deer have on their foreheads. Whitetail deer - which is all I have where I live - don't have that.

My guess is Mule deer. Depending on what part of CO, we don’t have many whitetails on the western slope.

My CC prof complained that all of the “deer xing” signs featured whitetails because he said there are only Mule deer in the area, but range maps for whitetails show they are everywhere east of the mountains in CO. So my guess is that Mulies are more common. I only have Mulies here in the mountains.

The large-ish ears suggest mule deer to me, but I am no expert.

Wikipedia says if they stott, or pronk, they are mule deer. Also black-tipped tail, all mule. ✅
