i think it's just the same preconceptions people have always had (and by people i mean normies who don't really watch anime) just the difference now is that everyone has watched jjk or the demon slayers so they have to make their exceptions and call everything ELSE pedo stuff
Oh yeah anime is “mainstream” now so they only got into it cause its “popular. They never truly cared about anime or manga. I remember when I was a teen anime was considered “nerdy” now they wanna act like they always liked it. Im a bit bitter over that 💀
NGL I find the community note kinda annoying. Like it seems petty. The first line would've sufficed, but it feel almost like someone desperately trying to cope with what is mostly just a kid making a dumb joke.
Had to file that series at work and yeah not a very good example to use for “not all of them are for pedophiles” since this shit wears that on its sleeve on like, all the shit in that box
I think the opening arc definitely has some flaws regarding using sexual assault for comedy, but what I really respect is that Tanigawa grew from them. The Sigh arc takes that aspect far more seriously and afterwards he drops it completely. I respect that a lot.
aside from thet i think the fanservice in haruhi is annoying early on where it's prevelant and it probably is my least favorite part of the series but i think calling it pedo crap is disingenuine. the characters in haruhi aren't like little girls they're high schoolers
and yeah high schoolers are minors but it's a work of fiction with a target audience of high school boys in japan. and people who are actively pedophiles are not gonna be reading something like that anyway they'll read or watch some lolicon crap instead which is what's actually "diddy content"
Comments
It's "Diddy" if it has a giant robot
Maybe circles
The point is that it doesn't fucking matter, those things are a small part of the overall story.
