Could Canada join the EU? The EU treaties do not prohibit it, but there are other factors to consider. π§΅π
TEU (Art 49) says any "European" state may apply for πͺπΊ membership. But what does "European" mean? It can be defined geographically, culturally, or politically.

Enough?

And vice versa.
Don't think too much !!!
Still, full membership would take a long time to achieve.
To me, the real questions are:
2. What would π¨π¦ actually gain from πͺπΊ membership?
3. Instead of full membership, would joining the European Economic Area (like Norway, Iceland, & Liechtenstein) be a more feasible & beneficial goal for π¨π¦?
