Tucked into the Cass Report, deep in the appendices, you'll find that they reviewed thousands of patient records and found no one who'd been harmed by puberty blockers and fewer than 10 detransitions.

Itβs even worse knowing that Wes actually met trans kids, listened to them cry about how awful it would be to go through the wrong puberty, how this is a lifesaving treatment, and is fucking doing this anyway
Itβs even more heartless than shutting them out of conversations

Provide all the evidence, they ignore it.
Proof is subjective to the fearmongering that it COULD do an imagined thing.
The evidence of one confirmation of a viewpoint negates all the rest.
It's just "OH NO, THE CHILDREN!" tactic that always works.
Except when it comes to protecting the children from GOP law makers, preachers, and teachers. Oh and school shooters.
thanks
I didn't see where they say no harm found, although there is frequent mention in the report of self harm due to stress (that is how they phrase it)
but there are ,iirc, a small number who discontinued therapy, which can mean a lot
They've never managed to find more than the same handful of detransitioners to parade around, because even most detransitioners support access to gender-affirming care.
That's why they have to make it all up.
These treatments don't show an improvement in mental health because you stopped the deterioration in the first place. They are holding good ground.
the latter cohort are sometimes tough to get ahold of too, ouija boards are rather clumsy
The former WPATH president says kids on blockers lose the ability to orgasm, which seems like a harm. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/mar/09/disturbing-leaks-from-us-gender-group-wpath-ring-alarm-bells-in-nhs

We know that's not the case here.
Puberty blockers were prescribed rarely by the NHS, after lengthy assessments. No harm has been found. Patients say they were necessary and the effects were wanted.
They have not been banned for precocious puberty.
Cis children can still access them.
On this basis lawmakers are instituting bans.
No harm has been demonstrated and no other treatments have any evidence whatever.
She just doesn't think this gives "time to think" because there is no evidence that using them causes people subsequently decide to detransition.
The Cass Report is full of such ludicrous hand-waving bigotry.
The inclusion criteria for the study Cass cites about people not changing their mind were deliberately the most definite trans cases - severe gender dysphoria from early childhood ie not representative of all recipients of blockers.
It matters that young people have individual bodily autonomy, and that includes the choice of *when* to start any given treatment *no matter what the probability is that they will make a given decision about what that treatment is*.
That's how we know this whole thing is driven by fear and hate of trans people. Anyone saying otherwise is lying or confused about how medicine works.
At this point it's just highly effective
We dehumanize kids, stripping of agency and turning into symbols.
And this all stems from patriarchy.
But we set a hard minimum age before HRT is even an option and in that blanket ruling we created its own problem of the overton window shifting rightward.
The inclusion criteria were basically cast-iron trans cases: severe gender dysphoria from early childhood, ie deliberately NOT needing βtime to thinkβ.
No alternatives to a transition supportive/affirmative approach have any evidence.
