What we need are privacy laws protecting us no matter who owns the platform, not xenophobia.

I’m concerned that Americans are flocking to a number of adversary-owned social media platforms. We still need a comprehensive and risk-based approach to assessing and mitigating the risks of foreign-owned apps.

Yep exactly! Like I absolutely do not trust America with my data either like no offense to regular normie Americans but your government is hella fucking evil. There's just very few spaces online in the Anglosphere that aren't American owned so us non American gotta just suck it up :/

The only place it is legitimate to ban foreign owned apps is on devices used for government work. In those cases it should be a blanket ban, not singling out any app or even any nation.

Higher security devices should allow whitelisted apps only.
