As a parent of a college student pursuing scientific research, I am sick to my stomach about what is going on. The kids being kneecapped by this were already impacted greatly during Covid in their second half of high school yet persevered.

The students who have been selected for these programs in the past are brilliant and so motivated- kids with top tier grades who are clever and curious and eager to learn. Some of them were already leaders in their communities, too. We're losing out on some of our best and brightest minds.
