I'm also currently reading: Foul Days, by G. Dimova (Russian folklore-inspired, modern-ish); Black Tide Son, by HM Long (magic pirates); and Heir, by S. Tahir (pseudo-Roman fantasy). I've been bouncing off the Blood Gift by NE Davenport, but haven't quite given up on getting through it yet....
