The man is of course Daniel Janzen, groundbreaking biologist and, together with his wife Winnie Hallwachs, virtual inventor of the field of restoration ecology, restoring many 10s of 1,000s of hectares of forest in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, since the 1980s.
