Beautiful. Until recently I had no idea that my favourite woods, with lush undergrowth, moss and ferns were remnants of ancient, temperate rainforests. I’d had no idea there was rainforest in Britain.
A lot of genuine conservationists would share your concerns, even English ones. Never question what you really know, that’s how gaslighting works. Always question your assumptions when you are confronted with evidence that shows them to be questionable.

Find it extraordinary now every time I hear conservationists talking about setting fire to the landscape to create lush wildlife habitats.
