Looking for genuine advice, should I apply to grad school? I graduating in May with an Arts Administration(business) and Studio Art degree. I'm not an artist, but I was majoring in music in voice. I can't say it's exactly the same thing, but from my experience as a graduate school drop out, grad school looks good on a resume, but it's so much more debt. If the opportunities within reach from getting the degree are worth it, do it, but

don't feel the need just because of fear. I remember the first day I dropped out and went outside in the city during the day around 2 pm and thought "holy shit people WALK AROUND OUTSIDE during the day and aren't locked inside". Regardless of what you do choose, know that the world is more

This is helpful, thank you! My advisor for Arts Admin said I should work in the industry a few years before going grad, but all my friends are applying and getting in which heightens the anxiety. I think I need a year out of school, but maybe I’ll apply and see if I get scholarships? We will see!

Gap years are also VERY helpful. I had a vocal injury so I got the opportunity to take one myself. You do a lot of maturing between that time and also really helps you cement your decision. A lot of people feel that expectation of "oh grad is amazing", but it's a mixed bag. Wishing you luck!
