This afternoon I’m back researching my own family, looking at the parish records for St Neots again. In a funny twist of happenstance I’ve found the burial of my 5x great-grandfather James Squire, who was buried on 1 March 1825. <3/3>

Most definitely. I was in tears beside C’s grave. At my parents-in-laws’ grave I was focused on weeding and planting - but it felt quite odd doing so. I still have vivid memories of my son (then 7) almost falling into the open grave before his Nanna’s coffin was lowered in.
That's such a mix of emotions. It's lovely that you were able to honour those you have lost, by both attending and 'tending to'. I'm glad your son was rescued in time!
