My worry isn’t even just the threat itself, but the pain and suffering he can cause even if it ultimately fails. Again, the US military has a long track record of failing to achieve its own stated goals, and this would be unlike anything they’ve ever tried.

My worry is basically that the US is unable to do anything effectively besides mass destruction. That’s the only thing the US state has been good at for a long time now. Them ‘failing’ in Gaza would still mean more widespread horrors.

True..but it's a big worry since the scale of destruction in Gaza and the number of people killed is also unlike anything I've ever seen happening to Palestine in my lifetime. And no one came to save them and stop the perpetrators.
