Jimmy Carter got a bad reputation for things that were completely out of his control.
In many ways he was the most humane, Christian and altruistic presidents of my lifetime The world was a better place due to him.
He will always be remembered fondly by people of my generation.

I was a teenager during the Carter administration, dear. And I was at a Don Henley concert in 1990 when the musician brought up Carter's name to a mixed reaction; and he said, "I think history will bear the man out." Never forgot it. Talked to my father about it. And history has borne the man out.

I only wish that his final vote would have come true. He was an excellent leader, and thought without concern for his own health keeping a nuclear reactor from going critical.
