This looks perhaps more like Pholiota squarrosoides to me with that color. It also seems somewhat slimy (but that's hard to tell from the pic, it can be just wet). Have you considered that species?

Yep, very well could be as they are similar. Cap wasn't sticky and I always hunt after a rain 😍 I have found squarrosoides but not as often.

Here in Czechia P. squarrosa is pretty common, P. squarrosoides is rare, currently locally redlisted as NT. I know it only from one locality from two decaying fallen trunks.

Insterestingly American sources tend to mention garlic smell of P. squarrosa which I've never really noticed with this species. Meanwhile quite often P. squarrosoides' smell is described as not distinctive while it has a pretty characteristic sweet cinnamon-like smell (more prominent when drying).
