Lots of new viruses (and other known pathogens) here, especially in carnivores and rodents. Of most interest, a bi-segmented coronavirus sampled from diseased red (lesser) pandas (Ailurus fulgens) and that represents a new genus. I'm curious about the bioethics of searching for wild pathogens with zoonotic potential. It can help us stay ahead but on the other hand, those same pathogens can be repurposed as bioweapons right?
