I was a troop, I’ve seen some embarrassing things happen on a parade square in my time. I’ve even seen someone fall over and put a bayonet through their foot (yes, ‘through’).

But Trump’s military parade was a whole new level of humiliation. I’d have taken a month in the brig for refusing orders.
