A character's deeds are as important as his skills.
In a world defined by merit rather than money, reputation and status determine how a character will be received in Woodlander: heroic and generous acts will be well-rewarded and crimes duly punished.
Mischief-makers beware!

also pardon if you'd answered previously, but since characters are animals does that mean theres no money / currency at all?
any trading / "shopping" would need either barter or services rendered? 💰️🚫
The stories I used as inspiration (mainly Redwall) tend to not feature any money---characters are very altruistic and generous overall. So I needed a way to simulate wealth without relying on coinage.
Goods and services can be exchanged if a PC's reputation or status proves insufficient, so a traditional treasure hunt is always a viable option to supplement one's budget.
Performing useful, heroic deeds will improve reputation, and assuming roles of authority will improve status.
