Reminding me of the 10 or so days when we had a Northern Pygmy Owl preying on the songbirds in our yard.

Took nearly a month for the songbirds to come back to our feeders 🤣

Then a couple of weeks ago our son, lives in Llandaff, reported a great kerfuffle, the silence among the local 'just getting up birds'.
There was a Buzzard perched in a nearby tree

We usually feed the quarrel of juvenile starlings that turn up late spring.
One year they suddenly fell silent.
Funny "Help! Help!" type squeaking.
A Sparrowhawk had dropped in for breakfast!
