Do I think you can be in a nudist setting and have sex? Of course. But the sex part isn't nudism because the nudity isn't the motivating factor in sexual play. I think if someone's motivation for getting naked is sexual in nature, I don't think that motivation lines up with what nudism is.

So when it comes to people flooding the nudist and naturist hashtags with boner pics, it isn't that I'm against sex. It isn't that I think nudists don't get boners. It's that I don't think their motivation for doing so embodies what nudism is. The motivation is exclusively sexual in nature.

To me, it reads as if they're taking someone else's movement and culture in order to flaunt their sexuality when that movement isn't rooted in sexuality. They're appropriating a culture to push an unrelated agenda basically. I just think it's rude and appropriative.

In this case, there's also a lot of frustration on my end cuz I'd love to see nudity be decriminalized. But with people conflating nudism with sex, it makes that goal much harder. If people think the motivation behind nudism is sexual, it's a huge barrier.

Basically though, I'm not against sex. But I'm against people whose motivations aren't aligned trying to attach themselves to a movement in order to get more clicks. Especially when those clicks result in further misinformation and ostracisation toward a movement whose core motivations differ.

It's frustrating as well to have these concerns brushed aside because I'm seen as being aligned with the AANR, INF, etc. who haven't been the greatest allies to queer people and other minorities (or child safety for that matter) cuz of some perceived "prudism" on my part.

I don't think you can engage in sexual activity in a nudist setting. That would usually result in being banned. A swinger setting, sure, but not a nudist one.

And of course nudists have sex (well most, probably), but, that's part of being a freaking human being, not a nudist.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I just mean that I think people can practice nudism and have sex while doing so (e.g. nudists who have sex in their home). Sex can occur regardless of someone's stance on clothing.

If sexual activity is done in private, then I agree. If it's public, that's when the nudity is now exhibitionism (and illegal).

Yeah, the issue is doing that stuff in a place not designated for it. Not only is it illegal but it's a huge consent violation. Involving people in sexual play by using their shock as a means to fuel one's own sexual desires is just gross.

And that's exactly why I have an issue with "nudist" clubs and resorts allowing swingers. Because most of the people that are already members are not wanting to see people having sex.

Also, pretty much the reason I have issues with a lot of photos "nudist" men post in online nudist spaces.
