I’m not sure when it became so popular, but the word “negligent” has been picked up by fans recently and now the media as well. It suggests that there are transfers the club could make that any reasonable club could also identify and make.

Not quite where I was going with that. I believe transfers were possible, but holding out for perfect transfers is problematic. I cannot believe that in the wide world of football there were no players that would have been helpful in this window given our needs or simply fresh legs.
I’d guess that the major issue is finding players the club would actually want and use once the injury crisis is over and the similar problem of players that would see a place for themselves at the club beyond the short term.
Yes I get that. But also, finding one or more players as short term solutions so that we don’t blow out many players to fatigue or injury is important and possible. You’re describing “perfect”, I’m trying to describe “good”. I’d prefer the former (perfect) but not in our current context.

Teams swelling now either want rid of the player or need to raise money.
