Um…. Okay… well, he got praise from the big man himself and people that really know Dylan and people that are huge fans have said he embraces Dylan perfectly. Timothee studied and practiced for five years for the role. You don’t know Dylan, or Chalamet. Wow! Just Wow!

I agree. The movie, and Chalamet were extraordinary. I was blown away by how he inhabited Dylan at that time of his life. I think Chalamet is a once-in-a-generation actor, and alchemist. Also, that moment in American culture is a powerful backdrop and Dylan's role in that, I enjoyed that focus.

It's not a contest. He paid Bob a huge compliment by not trying to make his character seem like a joke, as so many others have. Dylan has a quintessential personality and the repertoire of songs he's put out is staggering. He's not a classical singer, but that's what makes him so great.

Incredible performance and I’m a huge Dylan fan. That smirk … perfection. To be fair he had 5 years to prepare for the role, but he did his homework AND learned the guitar, harmonica, and sang all the songs live. He deserves the Oscar as well and I believe he will get it.

Nothing against Timothee Chalamet or James Mangold, but one was enough. Music biopics just seem so phony and unnecessary to me since Walk Hard. At least I'm Not There pushed against that. Cate Blanchett deserved her Oscar.

Finally went to see this in the theater, an old classic movie house with crystal chandeliers. It was everything I hoped. I'm a lifelong Dylan superfan. Chalamet embodied the young Dylan the way no one else could.
