I spent most of my birding time in South Carolina last week desperately scanning far-off, fast-moving swallows in the hope one would be a reported Cave Swallow (no luck)

Anyway it made me appreciate the friendly close-up birds that took no effort, like the ever-present always-adorable Sanderlings 🪶
