Trump's DOJ is preparing to put all incarcerated transgender women into men's facilities as early as next week, and according to NPR "the bureau is well aware of concerns about potential risks of assault, sexual violence and suicides"

The bipartisan failure to dismantle our prison-industrial complex is yet another way in which the rise of racism in our country has been an inadvertent bipartisan initiative. We (as in Democratic voters and politicians) should have been more aggressive at undoing systemic injustices.

I'm hoping that whenever we get a chance to rebuild that we'll see people clamoring for real change, an egalitarian society thats forward looking, and not just the window dressings of a return to normalcy.

I wish colleges were as radically left-wing as conservatives pretend they are, but this is one subject where my undergraduate experiences helped radicalize me.

I met Angela Davis when she came to campus in 2016 and the commencement speaker that year was Sister Helen Prejean.
