If you dig around enough, you can always find extreme views to write off an entire platform because of people who definitely don't represent the average.

This is like boycotting youtube because there are flat earthers somewhere in the backalleys of it. The average poster on bsky leans to the left but they don't rant about extreme things unless you look for it.

My experience has been that if you go looking for such things, you'll find it. I just follow artists who are generally cool (and the smut, natch) and so avoid the extreme fringes.

I think the sad reality is that you'll find that sort of thing seeping into every site on the internet. Find the places you can work with best and use them to your own advantage.

I personally prefer BlueSky because of how it's block feature works compared to Twitter. But you do you.

I’m sorry, I don’t agree with Bluesky and X being the same. 😅 Bluesky’s moderation tools are way more powerful. There are numerous moderation lists you can use to block out politics for example. X tends to shove politics down your throat.

That's what blocklist feeds etc. are for. No idea which people you follow but I never saw these terms even on FckTwitter.
