I should reread Achieving. Think there’s something to inequality frying everyone’s brains, including the relatively wealthy, as the backdrop to all this. Precarity hits the rich too… it’s sort of understandable why so many feel like they need to be able to assert dominance.

I watched you tonight on the Chris Hayes show and I totally agree with what you seemed to be saying in a round about way of how to shut Elon Musk down and that's through shutting Tesla down by getting people to stop driving them.

Can I ask if you feel Trumpism is about defining so called "real americans" as those who act and think like the historically cultural norm? A more fuzzy ethno-nationalism.So you can be black, homosexual etc and a Trumpist, if you only mildly complain,when you are called a "n****er", "f****t" etc.

Rorty got (and continues) to get so much shade. But he's going to be remembered long after most of his critics in part b/c he had the audacity to 1) speak about what mattered, beyond the kind of spats philosophers have with each other in journals and 2) speak to no philosophers in plain language.
