One of the 2 soldiers in front of the trench could be identified as King's Own Scottish Borderer. He likely remained on the surface after being killed. The 2nd body was found nearby, under the same circumstances, but no indications of a unit were found on him.

The other two, behind the trench, were buried in individual field graves. Their units could be determined. One of them had a Royal West Kent shoulder title, while the other belonged to the Rifle Brigade

2/KOSB (13th Brigade) advanced over this terrain in a counterattack on 23 April 1915, resulting in heavy casualties. It is likely that the two men in front of the trench were killed during then. 1/RWK and 4/RB were also near this location so they likely fell in the same days

Unfortunately, these units suffered heavy losses there, making it impossible to identify the casualties. No personal belongings were found, and any link to their identity was lost. They now rest side by side @cwgc.bsky.social New Irish Farm Cemetery.
