Agreed, but my library has removed books and using the space for non book related activities. the youngest generations seem to prefer the feel of a keypad/board over the feel of paper which is what i prefer. it is just changing of the times. My mother (94yo) went from radio only, to tv, to computers

Because of all this I went to the library for the first time in years. That’s probably why I commented the way I did. As a kid from a “poor” family, the library was my home away from home, my solace. I did t realize how much I missed it.

same here. and that is probably why i love books so much. as an obese and only child it is a safe, and calm haven for me. Our libraries have connected with the museums, giving free passes to them.

I lean towards your way of thinking, but these are tough times -- fiscally, culturally, politically -- for public libraries. Anything (almost) they can do to bring people back, keep positive engagement is worth trying. So long as it doesnt interfere with the library prime directive. 📚😊
