The Orion constellation is one of the most beautiful deep sky photos anyone can take.
In addition, it is possible to photograph it with a simple camera if you have a good tele and a tripod.
The winter sky has been phenomenal this year. I will miss Orion as he sinks below my horizon, but I look forward to the Corona Borealis -- I have a grand-daughter named Gemma, and I like to point out her star
Wow, Betelgeuse is so bright at this point. I only hope it explodes in my lifetime. It would be so awesome to see a star so bright you can see it during the day!
Betelgeuse is still looking good. But it's 548 light years distant, so it may have gone supernova. I'm almost sixty seven, so I doubt that I will be around to witness it.👍
