If people actually paid attention and got the skills they gain from education then they would know how dumb this meme is. Education teaches you critical thinking skills and how to come to your own conclusions. Most of you were sleeping through class when the rest of us were having real discussions
IMO, we can screw the bankers by buying necessities only, no wants just needs. We can screw Big Pharma by foregoing fast food for every meal, smoking to excess/drinking to excess, exercising when we can. For those things we have control. As to weapons... vote the war mongers out & hope 4 the best.
Your ideas are great, but the elites would never make that happen via voting..
We have to stop using the bankers form of money period, stripping them of total control over our lives.
Even if that means living like the Armish for a little while.
I protest the basic premise of Linus’s claim. Why not use the education you get to work with the powers that be to make things better? Call me a “boot-licker” but that way has led to wonderful results for a very long time.
Thomas Jefferson said, "The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable."
Another Mencken quote seems perfectly suited to the MAGA movement. “The men the American people admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth.”
Thank you. I lost the attribution but I thought the quote was well work keeping. Jefferson also owned slaves, but he said, in part, "I tremble for my country when I recall that God is just", with regard to slavery.
I can't live with the "government is inevitably evil" line, it leads to conservative reaction and eventually fascism. Democracy is the promise that government can be made better, even by problematic individuals like Jefferson.
Governments, like corporations, are neither good nor evil. In both cases people's actions, good or evil, determine the character of the organization. That's why corporations should not be considered people with rights and governments must be held accountable in elections.
I know how you feel, but even then, it was tough to get backing for a Constitutional Amendment. I believe he wanted to do it, but it took decades and a Civil War to get there.

The quote belongs to H.L. Mencken https://gettysburgconnection.org/quotable-quotes-from-the-sage-of-baltimore/, a smart and very witty guy, also not someone you'd want to emulate politically (had Nazi sympathies)
