But it’s also cutting democratic voter base. The research I can find says 79% of women take their husband’s name. In that research women who identified as democrat leaning were twice as likely to say they kept their last name 20% vs 10% That’s a lot of women and our party relies on women’s votes.

It’s discriminatory &unconstitutional. It puts a bigger financial burden on a subset of the population to exercise their right to vote like a poll tax. If we require voter ID, then in fairness, the US govt must issue free voter ID cards with the law going into effect after 99% have an ID

When I moved to a different state, my birth certificate was rejected at DMV because it was issued by the city & not by the state I was born in. I had to pay for a new birth certificate & wait months to be able to change my drivers license. I can see this happening at the voting booth.
