Unless you investigate everyone who is claiming PIP you can’t make that statement.
I could take you to Wetherspoons now ( 8:00 am) and show you 10 people drinking, smoking and eating who claim PIP. I can then take you to a house where there is a person missing a limb, who can’t get it!

Well you obviously don’t need benefits- they are not essentials ( other than food). Fags are what £20 a packet, beer £5 a pint.
Sure, enjoy them if that’s what you like, but go and earn the money, don’t expect to be funded for your pleasure.

The longer term proposals to scrap the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) from 2028, look essentially the same as the previous Govt’s 2023 white paper plans – but worse in many ways...! 4/11

1) Like previous Govt’s plan, PIP (rather than the WCA) will determine entitlement to UC’s health element – but only for people with PIP’s daily living component. This is more restrictive than previous Govt’s plan, where anyone on PIP would have received UC health. 5/11

Currently, around 650,000 people receive UC’s health element but no PIP daily living component – people in this situation in the future will lose access to UC’s health element (worth around £2,500 a year at the new reduced value). 6/11

2) Even worse, this interacts with the big cut to PIP eligibility announced today (which will see people lose £ thousands in itself) - it has a knock on effect of reducing the number of people entitled to UC’s health element even further. 7/11
