It's why I'm fascinated by Scientology. All a religion is is a cult that gains acceptance. It's so interesting watching a modern day example of a cult trying to cross over to religion

reminds me of "The Outpost"(2019). a US sergeant makes a comment a private about taliban religious beliefs vs western ones "we can't both be right" to which the private says "yeah, but we could both be wrong".

Yes. This makes the most sense. More realistic to face the weirdness of humans, and realize it's both good and bad. We're probably not cleaning that shit up anytime soon.
