Is sure a problem when most specialized people with guns is from the far-right. We would probably get crushed in a revolution, but influencing people to get on the cop or military system is not a good solution for this issue.

Here's the thing this type of tactic don't work in these days. There is a lot of institutions that make impossible to have people who thinks or act differently from the status quote to enter, and the chances of a individual getting corrupted by the ideals that they promised to not follow is huge.

Officials have margins of discretion, someone on the inside leveraging those to steer the institution on the progressive side does work. That’s why the right in the US has made efforts to influence legal students with originalist doctrine so that future judges were more aligned with them

In general we would have more chances of changing something if there was more left people on the government first, this is just the first step and we can't even do that.

The right controls completely these institutions because they are, for a fact, the ones who have more money. The right is not foolish, they know that the left could try to enter in this places again, making almost impossible to enter, because they don't want to suffer what happened in the past again

I understand your point, but I do think that getting leftists to aim for public offices of any kind is still a good strategy. Can’t get through if you don’t try it, and even a few people can make a difference in fighting right wing institutional consolidation
