Well. You know it. But if you still haven't read it, it's a big miss. It's both terrifyingly real and utterly surreal. Reading it makes you physically and mentally uncomfortable in a very unique, unforgettable way. But you just must read it.
Aitmatov is a true gem in the world of literature. His beautifully written works immerse you from the very first pages, delving into social issues and telling unique stories about small ethnic groups. Emotional, nostalgic, profound.
