When galaxies 'collide' does anyone living there actually feel anything? Aren't we colliding with the Magellanic cloud? It's really nothing to worry about, is it? Is it?
Galaxies apparently flow through each other like βghostsβ. Then they both reorganize into a new, larger galaxy. Itβs going to happen with the Milky Way and Andromeda in about 1 Billion years or so. Some stars will be cast out into open space, unlucky stars will collide, & the rest form a new galaxy.
Galaxy collisions are fascinating. Nothing really collides, space is too sparsely populated, so it becomes more of an intricate gravitational dance between particles where each particle is an independent star system.
