This kind of image always reminds me about how small we are.
The scale of the universe is entirely overwhelming. These galaxy features looked like this hundreds of millions of years ago.
So if it's taken in the NIR why are the dwarf galaxy stars blue?
And what then does that tell us about the other colours shown??
How can we tell what is 'real' and what is made up?
(And that's not even considering the issues with A I images! :-( )
You DO understand I suppose, that if this image was made into an actual photo with the data that was captured you & I would see nothing - right?
The SHORTEST wavelength of the light in the image shown is around 25% longer than the longest our eyes can detect. The stars are real, the image is made up
I just disagree. If you use a tool to adjust something invisible to our eyes to make it visible, that doesnβt somehow invalidate the image, as long as the adjustments are noted. Otherwise no images of infrared or ultraviolet could ever be considered βrealβ even though itβs repeatable and testable.
We can agree to disagree, but to me, if something is 'sampled' in one format and you change the format (using what exact techniques here?) then although being something that is in a sense a 'real' image, it is now a 'made up' (Man-u-factured) image, not an original one, the REAL one. The one we seeπ
Of course it's (man)made up if you alter an actual image that was captured in ANY way, short of cropping, which still retains the original captured data.
If I take a photo of you (never gonna happen!) & it shows you as a green fleshed woman you'd consider that to be 'real' and not made up would you?
Wow, you can see two or three really old galaxies there in the deep dark red. Amazing how many galaxies in this one image. Some lensing as well going on.
Little do we know if the end is near
In our stratosphere asteroids appear
Some pass by then they disappear
Some to burn up in our atmosphere
But boiling beneath is what we fear

It looks like they are dancing in the sky. Nature's dance party!

Why mess it up with our space junk by Musk?! Carbon footprint is a disaster!
How many galaxies do you count in just this photo?
How small do you feel now?

Itβs all real, even if itβs not how your eye would perceive it without enhancements or filters.

THERES SO MANY SPINNY BOIS
the other things would be background galaxies.
