I met a VA who also worked in localization at a con, and she said she got harassed by dub-hating weebs on Reddit because she localized a line for an anime that roughly means "goody two-shoes" or "someone playing the hero" as "social justice warrior".
Man, I don't fucking know. We're talking about the same weirdos who worship a disgraced and fired sex pest, even after he was legally unable to refute being a sex pest, simply because he voiced their favorite shortstack alchemist.
When I started reading One Piece in the early 2000s all we had were poor quality scanlations, with no consistency and atrocious "liberties" with the material. People should appreciate @stephenpaul.bsky.social great job and deep knowledge of the series way more.
