The last ac game I really enjoyed was origins too. If you’re unsure wait for a sale or get Ubisoft plus for a month to try it. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time though, I think it’s a big step in the right direction

I've been playing for 20 hours, and after I 'unlocked' Yasuke the game clicked for me and I've been having a blast. It's an incredibly gorgeous game too

It 100% depends on if you want to spend $70 on an AC game. If you don't mind, yes. If you do, just wait for the first sale.
