I held out hope they would see tramp for what he is in this election. As ashamed and hurt as I am I can’t help but hold hope that they are good people bent like this description. That they wouldn’t commit genocide or even murder helpless people at all. I just hope I’m not disillusioned here too

I've heard from a few over the years that they support him because the system's rigged and they want to disrupt the system. I personally think that's more the reason than anything else but I honestly can't be sure. I just know we need him to do enough damage that people truly see him.

If it takes him to get people to wake up and start insisting that we get what we, the people, need then maybe it is what it is. But people have to start paying attention. It's been so good for so long people don't understand what the alternative is really like.

I work in a conservative office environment. The sentiment I've heard is that Nazis are "OK" (😱) because, "They called us Nazis first." Or "deplorables," or "trash," or whatever. The stereotypical American (white, male, some education) feels, in a way, that they have been disenfranchised recently.

Long story super short - people have their feelings hurt, and they are choosing to react from that position. They've been told they're the "Bad Guys" for so long (in their minds) that, fuck it, they're the Bad Guys. It's stupid and childish and shameful, but that is where we are at, in a nutshell.

They fundamentally believe they aren't bad. They aren't racist, in their minds, they're just telling the truth. It doesn't matter how textbook the racism is, they don't see it as that unless it's literally shouting the n-word or the like. Same with their other bigotries.

They don't even have a right to feel this way: white men still own & make the decisions on basically everything, yet their media is constantly telling them they are victims. This is done so the rich can keep right on exploiting them while the average white guy isolates himself from everyone else.
