No reason, at all, to give them the benefit of the doubt. I’m not familiar with the precise facts of this case yet. I don’t have to be to say, five alarm fire. Make them explain why they’re not slicing through multiple constitutional guarantees to kick dissenters out of the country.

The casual assumption that anyone participating in pro-Palestinian protests is a "Hamas supporter" is itself problematic. Many of the ones I know just hate seeing little kids' body parts on their screens, and are sick at the thought that US weapons were used to do the killing.

Your right but they will deport him. Absolutly. What is right or wrong, legal or otherwise is no longer relevant to this administration. They know the law, they just ignore it. Just like when they defied three court orders restraining female trans inmates from moving to male prison system.

I hope you're right -- but not optimistic.

My grandparents (socialist Jews from Belarus/"White Russia") were threatened with deportation during the 1918-20 Palmer raids. They supposedly considered taking it, but decided post-Revolutionary Russian chaos was no place to raise two small children.

I do not know much about the Palestine protests at unis over the past few years, but i was told the university+state response was clearly more aggressive than usual, even back then

Yeah lots of focus on the first amendment breach, but IMO the 4th and 5th amendment violations are much much worse
