Hello!
We are the longest-established and most ambitious Local History project yet devised.
Established in 1899, and part of @ihr.bsky.social and @chppc.bsky.social, we aim to produce histories of every English place from the earliest time to the ever moving now.

We have two publication series, our 'Big Red Books' - which record multiple parish histories in county series - and 'Shorts', with a smaller focus.
Tower blocks, cottages, manor houses, hillforts, mines, and methodist chapels.
Our friends @bho.bsky.social have about 2/3 of our published volumes available 24/7/365 for free: https://www.british-history.ac.uk/catalogue/secondary-texts.
Over the next five years we will be adding the remaining volumes thanks to @ihr.bsky.social and the Marc Fitch Trust.
Our 'Big Red Books' are available from our friends Boydell & Brewer.
They're not cheap of course, so lobby your library, or wait for volumes to become available @bho.bsky.social.
These are published by @uolpress.bsky.social - watch this space for new titles from Essex, Durham, Middlesex (Westminster) and Herefordshire, coming soon.
