This is super cool, and also extremely timely. I was just thinking about building a little experiment of a virtual conference badge to mimic the real one (without going as far as Apple/Google wallet passes), and was planning to look for exactly this. Nice work, and thanks!

I was thinking q-r could use a little aspect-ratio css btw… the canvas pushes the link down on arrival, but I didn’t get a chance to mess with it yet

...I didn't package any code up in a repo like I typically would for that one. Lately, I'm more interested in documenting little progressive enhancement patterns like this, and I enjoy writing them as a 1-off each time myself. But definitely feel free to reuse the code if it's helpful for anything.
