I had to learn this over and over in therapy:
My tendency to imagine the worst outcomes of any difficult situation caused me greater suffering and hampered my ability to respond appropriately to the challenges.
That applies to our current political struggles.

That’s painful enough.
Then we imagine the outcome of their actions going forward. Death and pain and poverty and job losses…it’s devastating.
We’re suffering in advance.
We forget that we’re still in the fight to prevent as much as we can. We forget the courts and our allies and people resisting from inside and journalists getting the truth out and every one of us helping as much as we can.
If we see through it, we take our power back. We encourage others to see it too.
The first step is to do something every day to resist while doing something that gives you pleasure.
It contains the worrying.
