I 100% agree. Speaking from my own experience in I have tried to explain the economic impacts of tariffs on their specific industry (construction/laborers) and they don't seem to understand the fundamental concept of what a tarif is or how it works. They just feel like they are winning somehow.

That 37% was the story of the election, and while everyone has self-serving confirmation bias theories on why they didn’t vote, we don’t really know. I wish pollsters would focus not just on the horse race numbers but also on the non-voters, and why they’re tuned out. They’re a plurality!

I think part of it is voter fatigue. I also gather, from my younger relatives (a niece and nephews) that they don't identify at all with older generations. They are detached and I understand that but think it is crucial that they realize this; we are fighting for their future as well as our own.
