I was hoping for an announcement of continued remasters or a new full-fledged game, so both the Anime and Mobile were a bit disappointing, but only because of my expectations!

Hoping the mobile game becomes a digital title for consoles, I think this is slightly alienating to most classic fans

The way I see this (because I have the same hopes) is a way to guage interest or fund the remasters we actually want. Letting people fall in love with characters from 3-5, riding the wave that 1-2 will likely create, will create a desire to see them in their natural habitat... in theory.

Yes! My thought hearing all the talk about laying groundwork was that they’re in it for the long play and might want to use this as an opportunity to cement an RPG juggernaut for themselves like Atlus has now done with SMT, I’m just impatient

Thats my hope as well. Its a bit what SaGa Re:Universe did for the SaGa series. It proved popular enough that it funded the remaster of 3 SaGa game, and then led to the creation of Emerald Beyond and Romancing SaGa2 remake, that turned out to be a critical darling. Lets hope the same happens here.

I gotta admit, that's disappointing. No offense to any mobile players out there, I've just come to realize and accept that free to play games aren't good for me. They Scratch my brain in all the wrong ways, like when you scratch an itch too hard and it breaks the skin? So yeah, I'mma skip this.
