Agree the SNP shouldn't rise to the bait on this. It does seem like a deliberate attempt by the usual suspects to stir up an anti SNP hornets nest. They should concentrate on independence and Labours pro English priorities while emphasising the hypocrisy of Labours'stance in almost everything.

I don't think they're trying to keep it in the press, I think this is evidence of the type of political pivot you get when extremist politics is on the rise. Just as Starmer's flip on immigration etc. The political narrative is changing and they desperately want to be ahead of the curve.

Don't think anyone knows how things are going to pan out these days. Labour in Scotland is a hollowed out husk that relies on increasingly elderly support and is basically on life support. UK wide, the extreme right seems to be setting the narrative wherever you look. It's depressing stuff.

It’s to do as much damage to the SNP as possible because it’s a divisive issue.
