I was a choir kid in high school and when people found out I’ve never seen this movie I may as well have been shunned ! It was INTENSE how seriously the song specifically were taken
The scene where the boyfriend-Rolfe-reports on them. I remember as a child asking my Mom, why? Why did he do that? It didn’t make sense to me then and it still really confuses me now. Try explaining Nazis to a 10 year old.
Of course he is. We had the most incredible public education system until desegregation, and the white nationalists have been trying to ruin it ever since.
We cannot allow it as public education is the critical level playing world we all deserve and we need not only as families but as a nation. A well educated public wouldn’t have elected a convicted felon with almost 100 felony counts. Ffs.
Was in Austria in September. The movie fibbed on how they escaped. They actually took several trains. The church where the wedding took place is real and its breathtaking.
Now that you mention it, I remember hearing that they actually got away by train. But escaping by foot across the mountains is a much cooler story for a movie.
Right?!? Also just finished watching Seven Years in Tibet with my 15 year old daughter. I've told her for years how much of an impact that movie made on my life, and it's now available to stream on Netflix for the first time.
As a kid watching it, it had such an impactful message against the Nazis of the past that my grandparents fought. Now with what’s going on I guess it’s my generations turn to pick up the torch versus the ones marching down the streets today.
