Cecile Richards was a warrior for women’s rights, but also incredibly kind and generous with her mentorship and advice. As a former Texan, I revered Cecile and her mother, Ann Richards, and getting to know Cecile was the honor of a lifetime.

“It’s not hard to imagine future generations one day asking: ‘When there was so much at stake for our country, what did you do?’ The only acceptable answer is: ‘Everything we could.” Cecile Richards
heartbreaking loss of such a champion. all that brings me comfort is know her mother and Molly Ivins were there to greet her at the hell raising section of heaven.
She was a warrior. I'm glad her suffering from cancer has ended, that she is reunited with her mother, and that she won't have to witness firsthand the total dismantling of what's left of womens rights in America. Rest in power
We the Blue Sky-er’s have to meet this moment in our communities and our local and state governments. I keep telling people it starts at the local and state level…
This one hurts so much. I am so grateful for Cecile Richards and her lifetime of work in Women's Rights. Her mom would be so proud. Now they are together again. 💔
Fitting that her passing is the same day the evil pos is inaugurated. A lot of us want to die, too. Thank you for all you did, Cecile Richards. May you rest in peace as the rest of us take up the mantle.
I can still hear her mother’s voice when I think of her. I will be able to hear Cecile’s voice till I’m gone. Two incredible women. The world has lost another treasure
Cecile said, “Don't sit around and wait for the perfect opportunity to come along —find something and make it an opportunity.” In her honor - and on #MLKDay - commit to following her advice. What will you do to help during the next four years?
Ann Richards was a beast. I had a friend in business school from Texas when she was governor. One day we were talking about her and she looks at me and she says “people in Texas think she’s a pot smoking lesbian (pause) well she sure is” and started cracking up.
I came of age in the mid 70s. So many hard fought for women’s rights were attained during my lifetime. It’s so hard to go backwards. Many many thanks got to Cecile Richards, her life was most certainly a blessing!
I loved her mother and Bud so much. Fun couple. Ann is missed terribly. She was a pioneer and a true public servant. We need more Ann’s! Thanks for all you ladies do. As a grandmother of three girls, their happiness and body autonomy is paramount to me.
💔 heartbreaking news - but I can definitely see you continuing to follow her legacy… thank you for honoring Cecile Richards and thank you for all you do Shannon 🙏❤️

Rest in Power🫶🏻
Why her and not you know who
One of the great warriors!
Could not be worse.
The Richards were both powerhouses in their own right.
It really does feel like the world is coming to an end.
You are doing her proud. 🩵

We cannot sit on the sidelines. Community engagement through action is key.
