I couldn’t get a good screenshot but here are mine:
1. Returnal
2. Borderlands 3
3. Dead Cells
4. Astrobot
5. Wonderlands
A good year even though most of these games are older.
I own it but never got to put much time into it unfortunately. Felt like a game where I needed a solid online friend crew and my schedule is too random to be a reliable team player.
It's an easy game. You can play level 1 missions by yourself, between 4 and 10 mins top. You get used to your loadout, set preferences. And you can always jump into action to help a fellow Hell Diver knowing that it will take 45 mins max.
Shadow of the Erdtree consumed me, but my GOTY was Astro Bot. That game just put me right back in the mindset of when I was growing up playing ps1 games for some reason, too good
Yeah Marvel Rivals is fun but it's just a straight-up Overwatch clone. Concord wasn't Overwatch at all, nothing played like it. Paced/felt closer to Halo but with heroes within arena shooter environments. Felt unique but unfortunately no one wanted to spend $40 on a new multiplayer-only IP.
This is true. While the right only focuses on the character designs, I think its a combo of both really unappealing characters, and the 40 dollar price tag. Other hero shooters have a thriving character fandom, plus can play it for free. I think there are two lessons to be learned here.
Btw great piece on the manifesto. One of the worst thing in US healthcare is how it's tied to work. I can no longer see a young patient of mine because she got diagnosed with early dementia and could no longer work. I only found out bc dad 80yo is also my patient and now has to take care of her.
Yeah PS totally misread the gaming landscape. Would've definitely tried if free since I'm a big Halo guy especially during the original Xbox days but hopefully they make a comeback and make it more accessible for us cheap folks.
I was sucked in by the easy-to-learn card game mechanics and stayed for tens of hours because of the nice little twists. Give it a go if you like a unique experience that's more than what it seems.
