I mean…. I handled the initial criticism a lot better, like it hurt me feelings and I backed down and reflected, as opposed to shrieking about wanting to fight a guy and his dog. Also I was like 16, not 60

Well, I can tell you that not everyone keeps their grip on reality during a meltdown. I'm glad that all you had to deal with were hurt feelings. Meltdows like these can have serious consequences.
Oh i definitely embarrassed myself a few times. Luckily maybe in my case, I don’t have the urge to try to fight strangers, I just got pathetic in emotionally manipulative ways lmaoooo
Yeah. Maybe it's a generational difference, he might not even have the framework to realize what's happening to him. There's a stigma about therapy in general, yet alone autism.
One time when I was a goth teen in highschool who talked like sephiroth all the time this one girl straight up said “people would actually like you if you weren’t such an asshole all the time”
it's not literally that easy for everyone. Some people never quite figure it out until they die of old age. Everyone experiences neurodivergence differently.
I'm genuinely happy that you figured out something that works for you, but that's not evidence that someone else isn't trying hard enough.
Thing is…. Some things SHOULD have real consequences, for eg violence, harassment, abuse, etc. there’s no way around that. I believe in restorative justice not just dumb copbrained punishment mentality, but even then — the community must impose consequences for bad behavior
